122 - CAPE GAZETTE - Friday, September 1 - Monday, September 4, 2006 Pageant queen donates to Locks of Love Mallory Nielsen, 8, donated 11 inches of her hair to Locks of Love Friday, Aug. 25, at Bad Hair Day? in Lewes. Shown with Mallory is stylist Julie Norwood. Mallory, the reigning Juvenile Miss Sussex County, said she usually wears her hair about shoulder length but start- ed growing it longer about a year ago and has been planning to donate it for a while. "My cousin did it, and I just wanted to do it too. It's for a good cause," she said. Locks of Love uses donated hair to make wigs and hairpieces for people who are undergoing cancer treatments. Norwood said Mallory was a great donor. "She has beautiful hair," she said. The Grandparent Resource Center at Children & Families First offers The Second Time Around program for grandparents and other relatives raising chil- dren.
