Eileen Fulton coming to Milton Theatre Ticket sales to benefit theater project By Rachel Swick Cape Gazette staff Celebrity sightings are few and far between in rural Sussex County, but coming next Saturday, tourists and residents alike could spot a famous soap opera actress in Milton. Eileen Fulton, best known for playing bad-gift Lisa on "As the World Turns" is coming to the Milton Theatre next weekend to perform. Fulton is bringing a musical trio and plans to sing nos- talgic songs and talk about her life as an actress. She will only be in town for one performance and already more than 100 tickets have been sold. "I like to sing songs that tell stories," said Fulton, who gave the examples of "Is that all there is" and "Fever." "I like to bring in stories of my own life and use songs that peo- ple know," she said. Fulton joined the cast of "As the World Turns" in 1960 and 42 years later she is still playing the part of Lisa. Besides acting on the soap opera, Fulton has also per- formed in movies, theatrical pro- ductions and of course her live one-woman shows. "I like to talk to the audiences," said Fulton. "Doing a [live] show is so different than doing televi- sion because there is a live breathing body out there. It's like a love affair. I like to do live work." Fulton was named best actress in 1970 by Daytime TV maga- zine's reader's poll. In 1991 her work was recognized by Soap Opera Weekly. While she has never visited Sussex County, Fulton said she is looking forward to the trip. John "Ches" Warrener of Foot Light Entertainment is doing most of the footwork to bring Fulton to Milton.
