The course in- volves 130 hours of classroom and elinieal instruction, which meets the requirement for working in Delaware. The sue- eessful completion of this eourse allows the nursing assistant to take the Delaware nurse aide competency examination. Parker earns audiology degree Cynde Parker, owner of Coastal Audiology, recently received her doctor of audiology degree fi'orn Central Michigan University's distance learning program. To earn her degree, Parker Completed two years of course work as well as a comprehensive examination and a doctoral research project. She is president of Seaford Audi- ology Inc., with offices in Seaford and Long Neck. Parker is past president of the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the board of the Greater Mills- born Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Long Neck Business Association, the Seaford Business and Profession- al Women, the American Acade- my of Audiology, the Delaware Speech and Hearing Association and the American Speech and Hearing Association. She resides in Seaford with her husband David and son Patrick. Their daughter, Ashleigh, is a stu- dent at Towson University. Tow- son. Md. Bike to the Bay raises funds for MS research The Patterson-Schwartz/MS 150 Bike to the Bay will held Sat- urday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6. This two-day cycling tour is the largest fundraiser for the Delaware chapter of the National MS Society. The event begins with registration Oct. 5 at 6:30 a.m. and the ride gets underway at 8 a.m. from Smyrna High School. The tour goes to Dewey Beach and resumes at 7 a.m. Sunday back to Smyrna High School with a finish line celebration. Cyclists of all skill levels are welcome and made ride as an individual or as part of a team. The registration fee is $35 in advance ($40 the day of the event), with a minimum guaran- teed pledge of $200 per person. For more information, to regis- ter or to volunteer, call 800- FIGHT MS.
