Cape hockey puts away four at Polytech play'day Vikings polish skills in final scrimmages of preseason By Dan Cook Cape hockey traveled away from the Labor Day weekend flffic to the finely trimmed Bermuda grass of Polytech for a five-team scrimmage Sept. 2 came away with power- house scoring and tough defen- sive play. "The seniors are doing a great job," said Hughes. "They have stepped up and taken the younger girls under their wing and are helping them become better players." Maggie Delp, Erin Picker and Alexa Hendfickson each found the back of the net in the fourth scrimmage against Middletown while Katie Kolobielski held the Cavs scoreless. "Overall, we did well, and the girls saw what they need to work on," said the fifth-year coach. "We need to communicate more. Theycould hear that, and they need to work on that aspect of their game."
