Arts & Entertainment 70 FRIDAYI SEPTEMBER 6 - MONDAY, SEPTEMBE 91 2013 t, Cape Gazette RAL OPENS ANNUAL MEMBERS CRAFT EXHIBITION STEVEN BILLUPS PHOTOS THE REHOBOTH ART LEAGUE held three art openings Aug. 30 at its historic campus in Henlopen Acres. In the Corkran Gallery, the 4Oth Annual Members Craft Exhibition held an opening featuring more than 250 works in a va- riety of media. The Ventures Gallery featured a solo exhibit by painter Joanne Alsruhe. In the Homestead Gallery, artists Jean Doran, Steve Rogers and Laura Hickman exhibited their 3 Views paintings. All three artists traveled to- gether to southern Virginia on the Delmarva Peninsula, Union, Pa., and Tangier Island, Va. photographing the same locations and creating paintings of those they agreed upon. All three exhibits are on view through Sunday, Sept. 29. Shown in front of three views of crab shacks on Tangier Island are (I-r) Doran, Hickman and Rogers. Artist Gary Crowl stands in front of his Jurors Excellence Award winner titled "Brush Up." The assembled work is all various pieces of driftwood featuring a round bristle brush.
