SEPTEMBER 6 - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 711 SOLO EXHIBITION BY AINA NERGAARD-NAMMACK TO OPEN THE DELAWARE DIVISION OF THE ARTS Mezzanine Gallery will pres- ent Aina Nergaard-Nammack's exhibition, Fragments of Classical Music, Sept. 6-27. The gallery, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is in the Carrel State Office Building, 820 N. French St., Wilmington. There will be a reception to meet the artist from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, as part of Wilmingtoffs Art Loop, This Solo exhibition of Nergaard-Nammack's work will showcase a se- ries of paintings based on classical music. The artist uses multiple brush- es and her body's physical movement to paint the music,she is immersed in during a painting's creation. Nergaard-Nammack actively moves around the room while paint ng to obtain different views of the forms and colors, creating a vibrant and balanced composition. Delaware's Individual Artist Fellow in Painting, Nergaard-Nammack attended the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Spain and continued as a self-taught artist. Nergaard-Nammack has shown her paintings local- ly; regionally and internationally and has Work in corporate, private, and unisity collections. State park offers Outdoor Family Campout Staff at the Delaware Seashore State Park will offer an Outdoor Family Campout from 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 to 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 20. Participants will learn how to set up camp, pitch a tent, start a fn:e and cook outdoors. The evening includes a museum tour by lantern light and a campfire on the beach. Both are ripe with native plants and creatures that serve vital roles within the eco- system. Park staffwill lead participants on an Edible Plants walk at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, where they will " learn how to identify these edible treasures, what they taste like and how they can be adapted for use in everyday life. At 1 p.m. that day, a park natu- ralist will lead participants on a walk by the bay and demonstrate the various plants and animals that can be found in the marsh. Participants will gain an under- standing of the important role these marshlands play in the health of Delaware's Inland Bays. The fee for the Edible Plants program is $6 per person. The fee for the Marsh Walk is $4. For the Marsh Walk, all children must be accompanied by an adult and visitors should wear close-toed shoes that can get muddy. The Indian River Life-Saving Station is in Delaware Seashore State Park, 1.5 miles north of the Indian River Inlet.
