St ssex officials endeavor to boos I
airport business by renting hangars

Sussex County agreed on Tues-
day, Sept. 10 to build hangars at
the Sussex County Airport in an
effort to drum up some extra busi-
ness.
The county approved Director
of Economic Development Frank
Calio's idea, giving permission to
build two hangars of six units
each. The county hopes to rent the
space at the airport and the county
industrial park to private business
and industry, for $250 per unit per
month.
Calio said there is a waiting list
for similar space in Easton. He
said that he thinks he has enough
potential county clients to fill one
of the hangar buildings and said
this is a way for the airport and in-
dustrial park to raise extra money.
The county stipulated that when
the first hangar is filled, then the
county can build a second such
hangar. "We need to create some
activity at the site. Our fuel sales
have fallen off...You have direct-
