Suzzette Ortiz will bring her Latin Rhythm and Jazz group to Woody's Bistro on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. Call 227-2561. Ortiz to bring Latin jazz to Woody's Bistro Pianist, keyboardist, arranger, composer and vocalist Suzzette Ortiz, a native of Hato Rey, Puer- to Rico, will perform at Woody's Bistro in Rehoboth on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. Ortiz has a Bachelors in Piano performance and a minor in com- position, as well as a Masters de- gree in Music Education with studies of composition in elec- tronic music from Temple Univer- sity in Philadelphia, Penn. She currently performs in a variety of situations: Classical, Christian Pop, Salsa and Latin Jazz. Cur- rently a music teacher in Camden, New Jersey, Ortiz has performed with several Latin Jazz groups in the Philadelphia area at the Blue Moon and the Zanzibar Blue. She has participated in bands opening for Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barreto and Hilton Ruiz. Joining Ortiz in the perfor- mance is Pedro Jimenez on vo- cals, guitar, flute and saxophone; composer and arranger Jose "Joe" Torres on bass; drummer, teacher and composer Mark Beecher; and percussionist Hector Rosado.
