The scholarship was presented by the Jason High School Alumni Association. The recipient must attend the Owens campus and take at least one class in the William C. Jason Technology Center. The award was made possible by a gift from William C. Jason III, grandson of the man for whom the award the building is named. "I am very surprised and pleased at the same time," said Miller, as he accepted the award certificate. He is a student in the criminal justice technology program and plans to go into police work after graduation, with a possible transfer to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms at a later date. Above, Miller accepts the Jason Alumni Scholarship Award from Esthelda Parker-Selby, president of the Jason High School Alumni Association. Also present at the ceremony were (l-r) Owens campus dean of student services, Paul Sel- by, and campus director Dr. Timothy Kavel.
