CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, September 26 - October 2, 1997 - 47 Bird's Eye View of Sussex County A look at the Long Neck School and emerging Baywood community Indian River School District's Long Neck Elementary School, shown at the left side of this aerial photograph, opened in the fall of 1995 to serve the growing number of pre-school through fifth graders on Long Neck and in the surrounding area. In the top center and right of the photo is the emerging golf course community known as Baywood and a portion of the championship length (7,022 yards) eighteen hole golf course known as Bay- wood Greens. According to Rob Tunnell of Tunnell Communities which is Dennis Forney photo building the golf course and community, the first nine holes of the course should be ready for play by May 22, 1998. "We started on the course 104 weeks ago and we're only three days off our schedule," said Tunnell this week. "We feel good about that." All told, the golf course covers about 200 acres of woods and fields with a 55 acre freshwater wetlands running through its center.
