Highlights will incude a lighted boat parade at 7 p.m., Oct. 5, fol- lowed by a Captains' Reception and parade awards ceremony at Irish Eyes at Anglers. While boat entries are $25 (call 645-7832), the cost of the recep- tion is $5. Children attending the Boast the Coast Festival Oct. 5 can join with Baltimore's National Aquarium to learn about "Mysterious and Dan- gerous Creatures of the Sea." They will also have a chance to take a close look at, and touch and feel, some sea-creatures that will be presented in a live tank. To aid young people's under- standing of some of the strange creatures of the ocean, National Aquarium personnel will dress volunteers from the audience as sharks, jellyfish and other sea ani- mals. The colorful theatrical program will explore common misconcep- tions and fears of animals unique- ly adapted for their environment. Two National Aquarium pro- grams will be held in the Little Theater of Cape Henlopen High School - one at 10 a.m. and one at 2 p.m. Admission charge will be $4 for adults and $2 for children. The program is one of many presented throughout the mid-At- lantic region by the National Aquarium through its education and outreach program. The Boast The Coast Festival is part of a Lewes Maritime Week- end which also includes Universi- ty of Delaware's popular Coast Day planned this year for Sunday, Oct. 6. In addition there will include an art exhibit by local artists and de- coy carving exhibit sponsored by the internationally-acclaimed Ward Museum in Salisbury, Md. In downtown Lewes, there will be a sidewalk sale, tours of the town, and tours of the historic Delaware Bay oyster schooner MEERWALD at the city dock, and seafood samplings from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 1812 Park. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children for Boast the Coast, which in- cludes tours, reception, perfor- mances and parade.
