O Rehoboth Kiwanians hold installation The Rehoboth Beach Kiwanis Club held its annual installa- tion of officers and directors of both the club and the Kiwanis Foundation on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Rehoboth Beach Coun- try Club. RBVFC plans Fire Prevention Awareness Program Oct, 4; fire drill slated Oct. 7 The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting its sixth annual Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness program and Apparatus Display from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Re- hoboth Beach Bandstand. Events will include safety dis- plays by the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Millville and Milton fire companies, as well as displays from the Delaware State Fire Mar- shall's Office, Delaware State Po- lice, Delaware State Police Avia- tion Division, State Farm Insur- ance, Delaware Electric Coopera- tive, Delaware Office of Highway Safety and the Chester/Crozier Bum Center. Children will be able to have their picture taken on a fire truck, and will receive fire and safety information booklets, activ- ity and coloring books, and fire safety items. The National Fire Protection Association has announced that this year's theme will be "Fire Drills: The Great Escape." In con- junction with this event, the Re- hoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company will participate in two national events to stress the im- portance of fire drills.. The first program in which the Rehoboth company will partic- ipate is the first Great American Fire Drill. At 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, the fire company will sound its signal for all residents of the community to join families from across North America in practicing their home fire-escape plan. Families are encouraged to complete their drill by following these suggested safety measures: Practice "stop, drop and roll" if your clothes catch fire.
