Christine Lynam weds Justin Opiela in resort Christine Lynam and Jus&apos;tin Opiela were married July 25 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. The bride is the daughter of Anne and Dick Lynam of Wellington, Fla., and Rehoboth Beach. The groom is the son of Gerry Opiela of Indian Rocks, Fla., and Mary McKinney of Robinson, I11. The matron of honor was Nora Lavelle Andrews, formerly of Re- hoboth Beach but now residing in Virginia. The bridesmaids were Jordan Wapner, sister of fhe groom; Jennifer Joseph Hochrein of Georgetown; and Sarah Thom of Chicago. Junior bridesmaid was Erin Lynam, niece of the bride; the flower girl was Victoria Lynam, also the bride's niece. The ring bearer was Kevin Dief- fenbach. The best man was Curtis Thom of Chicago and the groomsmen were Lance Opiela, brother of the groom; Mike Cecil; and Stephen Kemp. The ushers were the bride's brothers, Richard Lynam Jr., "Robert B. Lynam, William T. Lynam and J. David Lynam. The bride is:a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and the Lewes Fire Dept. takes second in annual parade The Lewes Fire Department was named as having the Second Best Appearing Antique-Motor- ized Apparatus at the 1998 Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association, which was held Sept. 26 in Dover. The parade included fire com- panies from all across the state. University of Delaware. The groom is a graduate of the Univer- sity of Kentucky. The couple resides in Clearwa- ter, Fla., where Mrs. Opiela is teaching school in St. Petersburg and Mr. Opiela is with Nations- Bank in Tampa, Fla. The public is invited to stop in and see special fire preven- tion-related materials, many of them available for checking out. The purpose of the nationally ob- served week is to increase aware- ness of the dangers of fire and to educate the public on how to stay safe from fire. For Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m., the library offers a THEATRE- WORKS USA presentation of "Native American Celebration." Two native American Indians will demonstrate the oral tradition and music and dance of many Indian traditions in addition to their own of Caddo/Potawatomi and Sac and Fox. The elements of the presenta- tion were chosen to illustrate the relationship to and respect for the natural environment that is preva- lent in all aspects of Native Amer- ican Indian life. The "Native American Celebra- tion" is funded by grants from the Delaware Humanities Forum in cooperation with the National En- dowment of the Humanities and the Delaware Division of the Arts.
