Short's Marine received the award during the annual Bayliner Dealer Meeting held Aug. 16-18 in San Diego. Recipients of the award must meet a number of strict requirements, including high cus- tomer ratings in product and service satisfaction as well as maintaining high standards in staff professionalism and showroom appearance. Only a handful of Bayliner's dealers receive this prestigious award each year. Bayliner president John Russell also presented Short's Marine with the Million Dollar Dealer Award for outstanding sales performance. Short's Marine purchased more than $1 mil- lion in Bayliner products during the 1998 model year. Short's Marine has been a part of the Bayliner dealer network for 16 years, and offers Bay- liner boats, ranging from the Capri runabouts to the Ciera family cruisers. Short's Marine is the largest boat/marine dealer on the Delmarva Peninsula. They have been providing residents and visitors with a grea t selection of new and used beats, personal watercraft and outboard motors since 1940. Counseling Continued from page 55 the agency, he said, is that it is a low-pressure procedure. Clients can include only credit cards that they want to enroll in the program: Once clients include a credit card in the pro'gram, though, Barkauskie said they must give them up as a condition of enroll- ment. "The really good thing about us is that there is no pressure," he said. "You don't have to give up everything. Lots of people think if they join they won't have any cards. That's not true." Working to overcome debt A retired captain of Delaware State Police Troop 7, Barkauskie said he enjoys helping people who would otherwise feel they had no way out of debt. The results, he said, are amazing and gratifying. While many of his clients are from Delaware, Barkauskie said he also deals with clients from New York, Maryland and Penn- sylvania and encourages potential clients to call the Better Business Bureau for their endorsement of Consumer Credit and Debt Coun- seling.
