Oct. 3 in Milford
The Third Annual Walls Walk
for Charity is set for Sunday, Oct.
3, with registration at I p.m. in Bi-
centennial Park and the walk
kicking off at 2 p.m.
Runners and walkers along
with those in strollers, wheel-
chairs and scooters will follow
the Mispillion Greenway Trail.
Pets on leashes are welcome.
Offering an opportunity to
pursue fun and fitness, the
course covers the entire trail
along the river from Maple Av-
enue to Goat Island.
This year, for the first time,
participants will get an opportu-
nity to walk on a primitive nature
trail on Goat Island.
Because the• island trail is still
in the planning stages, this
chance for an early, close-up look
will be available that day only.
All participants will return to
the kick-off point to enjoy free
food and music plus games, a
juggler, balloon art, face painting
and a moon bounce for kids.
The •cost is $10 for adults and
$7 for senior citizens and stu-
dents. Children 12 and under can
participate free of charge.
All proceeds will benefit youth
programs at Milford Parks and
Recreation.

Miss Harbeson Pageant set for Oct. 9 at Lewes Senior Center .
Girls from all over southern
Delaware are eligible to enter the
llth Annual Miss Harbeson
Scholarship Pageant, set for 3
p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at the
Lewes Senior Center near Nas-
sau. Applications are available at
Prettyman's Garage near Harbe-
son and can be mailed out or
picked up. For more information,
call 684-3713.
Titles awarded will include
Miss Harbeson Delaware, Miss
American Holly and Miss Alum-
ni. Girls from all over Delaware
can compete for the Miss Ameri-
can Holly titles. Those compet-
ing for the Miss Alumni titles
must be previous title winners.
Age divisions are Little Miss 3-
6, Young Miss 7-12, Junior Miss
13q6 and Miss 17-24. Admission is
$3 in advance for children 3-12
and will be $5 at the door;, adult
tickets are $5 in advance and $8
at the door.•Children 2 and under
are free.
