CAPE GAZ]gTr Friday, October 9 - October 15, 1998 - 37 Angle Moon photo Former Meals on Wheels of Lewes-Rehoboth President Tom Seery was named 1998 volunteer of the year by Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels volunteer given national award Thomas J. Seery, a Meals on Wheels of Lewes & Rehoboth Inc. volunteer, received a 1998 Meals on Wheels Volunteer of the Year award at the program's of- fice in Lewes. The award, sponsored by Reynolds Metals Company, and the ProjectMeal Foundation, was given to Seery for his outstanding service, support and devotion to delivering meals to the home- bound. Reynolds, makers of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil and other consumer products, do- nated $1,000 to Meals on Wheels of Lewes & Rehoboth Inc. in Seery' s honor. "Tom has given so much of himself to our program and the clients we serve. He is truly de- serving of the title, Meals on Wheels Volunteer of the Year," said Kathleen Keuski, director. Seery was nominated by Keuski for his endless dedication and years of continuous service to and support of the Meals of Wheels of Lewes & Rehoboth Inc. program. "These volunteers dedicate so much of their time and energy to helping others. They deserve spe- cial recognition for the outstand- ing services and companionship they provide to the homebound," said John Lowrie, vice president of Reynolds Consumer Products Division. In 1997, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil, Reynolds set a goal of recruiting 50,000 new members for Meals on Wheels. The volunteer effort, which has already resulted in 60,000 new volunteers, continues. Volunteers can find the location of the near- est Meals on Wheels program by calling 888-MEAL-HELP.
