CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, October 10 - October 16, 1997- 43 P.LActive to meet weekly beginning Nov. 6 P.L.Active is a bereavement support group for persons living with AIDS, persons who have lost significant others to AIDS or other catastrophic illness and especially those who have experienced mul- tiple losses or layered grief. The support group will meet every Thursday for six weeks, be- ginning Nov. 6. The group will meet at the parish house located at 2nd and Mulberry Streets, Lewes. This is a professionally facilitat- ed program and confidentiality is ensured. There is a small charge for those who are still working and finan- cial assistance will be arranged for those on disability. For more information and to sign up, call 644-4791. Michael Short photos Hundreds walk for Alzheimer's Hundreds of walkers gathered at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach on Saturday, Oct. 4, for the annual "Memory Walk". De- signed to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, the walk, spon- sored nationally by PhRMA Pharmaceuticals and Sprint, has been held in New Castle County for six years. Roughly 150 to 175 walkers and 40 volunteers gathered to walk in Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach. This was the first year that the event was held in Sussex County. Other sponsors included Manor Care Health Services, Friess Associates, Laffey-McHugh Foundation, Westminster Village, Silverlake Center, Harrison House in Georgetown, Rehoboth Outlets, Bell Atlantic Delaware, PNC Bank, Hand Therapy of Delaware, St. Francis Hospital, Deerfield Senior Services, VNA Delaware, ICI Atlas Point, Wilmington Trust, Grotto Pizza, Louis Capano and Associates, Rehoboth Beach- wear, B.A. Pinkett, Order of Red Men and the Millsboro Wom- ens Civic Club.
