This would make possible the spaying of large numbers of homeless and feral cats and therefore reduce the overpopulation prob- lem. We are desperately looking for benefactors to help us raise the $59,000 necessary to launch this clinic, including the sterile equipment. Persons who want to help Delaware become a no-kill state may want to contribute to this program. We also need volunteers and carpenters. Please help us make a difference! Volunteers are needed to carve pumpkins Barbara Berl and Marilyn Nugent want the Lewes community to join them with a grand Halloween project for the children and young at heart in the area. For several years, the two created a scary and beautiful carved and illuminated pumpkin patch in Zwaanendael Park in Lewes and offered treats for trick-or-treaters. This year they would like the whole community to get involved to make the project even better and to spread out some of the pumpkin carving. Contact Barbara at 226-1359 or Marilyn at 645-7930 to join the project. It is almost Halloween but will there be a pumpkin patch at theZwaanendael this year? Last year, the park was dark. The Lewes community missed hav- ing the 100-plus illuminated, fancy carved pump- kins and the costumed ghosts and goblins handing out candy on trick or treat night because the organiz- ers were out of town. They're back, but this year they are asking for some help from the community. "This year, we are asking for help," Berl said. "We would like very much forit to go something like this: Families, scout troops, art classes, fun-loving resi- dents of Lewes carve a pumpkin and bring it to the park on Tuesday, 30 October between 4 and 6:30 p.m. If you need a pattern to help with your design, pick one up at the Chamber office behind the muse- um between now and the 30th. Place your pumpkin along one of the walkways. Return home, get into your costume and come back to stroll through the park and enjoy." Wc,Lz /6t NEW !! Teak Warehouse -We sell ONLY teak !
