34 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25- MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2013 NEWS Cape Gazette Ocean Waves Quilt Guild to exhibit Oct. 28 to Dec. 4 at Scott's Gallery Reception set for Nov. 3 in Rehoboth Scott's Gallery at Epworth United Methodist Church an- nounces a new exhibit by Ocean Waves Quilt Guild. The exhibit will run from Monday, Oct. 28, through Wednesday, Dec. 4, with an opening reception from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3. Members showing their work are Rhonda Adams, Linda Bruce, Carol Fisher, Linda Gabriel, De- nise Laux, Pat Morrissy, Carol Senerchia, Pat Steele, and Dee Taylor. Ocean Waves Quilt Guild is a community of quilters serving greater Sussex and Kent coun- ties. The group originated in 1997 with 18 members. Today the guild has nearly 200 members who donate their efforts toward community service. Their quilts are at Beebe Med- ical Center's Tunnell Cancer Center, and tote bags are given to the homeless. Teddy bears are made for chil- dren of fallen soldiers and are given to police departments, fire stations, hospitals and social service agencies to be distributed to children in crisis. Pillowcases are made for hospital patients; quilts are sent to service men and women, and welcome baskets are prepared for new homeowners through Habitat for Humanity. The guild offers a wide Holly Branch seeks entries for Celebration of the Soul Art and Literary Exhibit The Holly Branch, National League of American Pen Women will hold an opening reception for Celebration of the Soul Art and Literary Exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Dover Public Library, 35 Loock- erman Plaza, Dover. A juried/judged show, Cel- ebration of the Soul is open to males and females of any age. It will be the largest show the new Dover Public Library will have on displaysince the grand open- ing in September 2012. Interested artists and writers can pick up an entry form at the Dover Public Library counter. The general public entry fee is $25 for up to three works, 2D, 3D, or literary. The Dover Public Library has a new rolling program for art- work to be displayed 30 days at a time.
