48 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, October 31 - November 6, 1997 East Coast Gift Expo set Nov. 16-18 The East Coast Gift Expo, a trade show for the benefit of all businesses in the Delaware, Mary- land, New Jersey and Virginia coastal resort areas will be held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 16-18, at the Ocean City, Md., Convention Center. All the exhibit halls on the main floor of the center will be used to accommodate the 350 booths staffed by companies from all over the United States. Sales representatives from each company will be showing to and taking orders from retailers at- tending the show. The latest lash- ions in T-shirts, the newest novel- ties, all types of souvenirs and beach supplies are being dis- played for the 1998 season. The show is open to legitimate businesses and only those who can show proper identification will be admitted. Identification includes a busi- ness license, letterhead or compa- ny check. The show is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday and Monday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Whether jogging, lifting or crunching, all seem to agree that owner and personal trainer Rick Moore and his staff make working up a sweat a pleasant experience. The new Milton fitness center opened early this month and the initial get-acquainted offer attract- ed clients from Lewes, Lincoln and Rehoboth as well as those who live within a few blocks. Some experienced lifters and body builders signed up along with a lot of people who just feel the need to take that step toward getting healthier and more fit. During a recent morning at Rick's, the last day of the intro- ductory special, those rushing in to make the deadline were mostly female and mostly would not be confused with competition body builders. One woman laughed and admit- ted that she was the caller who asked if the fitness center took fat old ladies. "You're not very much of ei- ther, but we're here to help you,"' center manager David DeLuca said as he guided the new client through the sign-up procedure. Since opening Oct. 1, Moore and DeLuca have worked to make sure clients know that they are signing up for service as well a,s the use of an extensive range o f exercise and fitness equipment. "We are here for service," Moore said. "We don't want to pressure anyone to buy a member- ship if it's not right for them. We are here to train people to enjoy a workout, and to realize that a good workout is a great stress reliever. "We feel the need to cater to health, and that includes a lot in addition to exercise." Moore is a certified by the Or- ganization of American Fitness Professionals and Associates. He first got the idea of a fitness center in Milton little more than a year ago, after he moved into the area.
