Steppin' Out Continued from page 56 the spring of 1993. Members hit the road in their "Big Black Win- nebego" to tour coast-to-coast for two years. Founding members Harrison and Parsons met up with Barefoot Geno at one of their des- tinations, Marco Island, Fla. Geno signed up with the band in the spring of 1996, and the rest is Naildrivers' history. The trio's latest and greatest CD, "Toolbox," showcases its Al- ternative style of creative song- writing. While the Naildrivers have decided to stay in the area for awhile, they will spend the next Cindy Cain and the Night- crawlers will headline at Sydney's Blues and Jazz Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach on Friday and Satur- day, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, for the es- tablishment's "Sleaze-Easy." month practicing and gearing up for a three-month national tour in the spring. The band is also spending its down-time to put more songs together for a forth- coming album. In other local entertainment news...The Remnants, a band that boasts songs about bar fights, grits and Spam, will take the stage for Dogfish Head's Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 31, at 10 p.m. There's no cover charge to hear the group's gritty version of Jim- my Buffet's "Margaritaville," or their other catchy tunes. The establishment will be serv- ing.S1 pints of its award-winning Punkin' Ale (the brew that took top honors in the '96 Punkin' Chunkin' recipe contest) and a costume contest with Dogfish Head giveaways. Don't miss it. Ever wonder what a "Sleaze- Easy" is? Sydney's Blues and Jazz Restaurant will have the an- swer on Friday, Oct. 31, and Sat- urday, Nov. 1, as it presents Cindy Cain and the Nightcrawlers for a Halloween weekend festival. Anyone who arrives at the es- tablishment in costume will be ad- mitted for free. Shows begin at 9:30 p.m. each night. Formerly of the Rhythm Toys and now frontwoman and name- sake of the Cindy Cain band, the artist has been singing and swing- ing the blues in the D.C. area since 1992. Full of attitude and ready to lay it on you, Cain has netted the opening slot in 1995 at theseventh CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, October 31 - November 6, 1997 - 57 Annual D.C. Blues Festival with the D.C. Blues Society Band. Her other credits include opening for Danny Gatton at the Bayou and Maria Muldaur at the Twist & Shout. For information about the Syd- ney's shows, call 227-1339. The Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach will be another hot spot for Halloween happenings. Check out the Rudder lounge on Friday, Oct. 31, for live music provided by DJ Daryl Davis. While Davis spins your favorite "Monster Mash," you'll be en- ticed to enjoy special Halloween shooters, plus a costume contest with prizes. Rudder's "Pet Pumpkins," which have been placecl around town. Bring one of the pumpkins to the Rudder and receive $1 off drinks all night long. In Lewes, you can enjoy Hal- loween festivities at a variety of establishments. The Lighthouse Restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf will host teen-age rock band the Channel Surfers. The Lighthouse will also feature a late Happy Hour from 10 p.m. to midnight, and a costume party from 9 p.m. to midnight. Just a stone's throw from that establishment is Irish Eyes at An- glers, where you can catch the Wise Guys, or stop in the Rose & Crown and spend Halloween with -" "- DJ EROCK, or continue down Sa- vannah Road to Roadster's, where you can enjoy a rocking costume party with Blue Junction.
