Halleck, 80, of Re- hoboth Beach, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center. Mrs. Halleck was a homemak- er. She previously worked as a volunteer at Beebe Medical Cen- ter and the Lewes Public Library. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Juelig, and a sister, Dorothy Gary. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Halleck; a son, Peter D. of Rehoboth Beach; two daughters, Susan L. Peacock of Whitehaven, Md., and Donna L. Stokes of Parkt0n, Md.; a granddaughter, Beth P. Torchia of Ocean Per, N.J.; and Star, a spe- cial dog. Services were held at the Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Parsell Fu- neral Homes, with burial private. Bender, 77, of rural Millsboro and formerly of Nor- wood; Pa, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, of heart failure at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mr. Bender was a retired elec- tronics specialist employed by the Johnsville Naval Air Develop- ment Center in Johnsville, Pa., re- tiring with 33 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and Vietnam, serving as a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Oak Orchard- Riverdale American Legion Post 28, the Naval Air Ship Associa- tion and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 646 of Lewes. He is survived by his wife, Ger- ta E. Bender; three sons, Frederick C. of Mesa, Ariz., Michael D. of Austin, Texas, and George J. of San Patrico, Texas; a daughter, Laura Marie Malin of Farming- ton, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Bar- bara S. Pearson of Warminster, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held from the Chapel of Melson Funeral Ser- vices, Long Neck, with burial in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Danielle Dionne Guerin, Cape athlete Danielle Dionne Guerin, 16, of Lewes, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Ms. Guerin was a junior at Cape Henlopen High School, where she excelled in cross country and track. She was also a member of the basketball team and was on the honor roll. She collected basket- ball cards and enjoyed listening to music. She had a love of sports. She is survived by her father Kerry James Guerin of Eagan, Minn.; her mother, Marsha Dionne Guerin of Lewes; a brother, Kris Joseph Guerin, at college in Allen- town, Pa.; a half-sister, Jennifer Ashley Guerin of Eagan; a stepsis- ter, Aimee Nicole Guerin of Ea- gan; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Joan Dionne of New Canann, Conn.; her paternal grandmother, Dorris Elizabeth Harris Guerin of Villas, N.J.; and her paternal grandfather, James Earl Guerin of Media, Pa. Idetta L. Moore, cottage owner Idetta L. Moore, 90, of Love Creek, Lewes, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Moore owned a cottage years ago. She was prec.eded in death by her husband, Delbert D. Moore, and a son, John Richard Moore. J She is survived by her step- daughter, Ellen Brown of Re- hoboth Beach; a brother, Robert Murray, of Mifflinberg,.Pa.; and a sister, Mariann Purcell of New Castle. Services will be held at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes. Joseph T. Toomey, Wilmington businessman Joseph T. Toomey, 73, of Wilm- ington, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at home. Mr. Toomey was an accountant at Hajoca Co., Wilmington, from 1948 to 1954; an administrator of pension and welfare funds at John J. Pearce Administrators in Wilm- ington, from 1957 to 1974; and an arbitrator for the state of Delaware from 1975 until retiring in 1986. After that, he worked for the Min- istry of Caring. He was a member of St. Joseph on the Brandywine Catholic Church, where he was a former member of the parish council and worked 20 years with its Alco- holics Anonymous group. He was a 1948 graduate of Goldey Col- lege. He was a World War II vet- eran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by four daugh- ters, Doreen Theis and Marianne Watt, both of Wilmington, Sharon Tribitt of Middletown, and Judy Ascione of Rising Sun, Md.; a sis- ter, Mary Popovich of Lewes; and three grandchildren. Services were held at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Catholic Church, Greenville, with burial in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
