Love :his .e, at ' ioo. !i Obituaries )) Lillian Ritz Bourne, thrift store volunteer Lillian Anne Ayton Ritz Bourne, 79, formerly of Ardmore, Pa, and Lewes, passed from can- cer Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014. She is survived by daughters Virginia Putnick (Robert) of Havertown, Pa., Barbara Ritz Schenkel of Havertown, Susan Ritz of Newtown Square, Pa.; grandchil- dren, Barbara Putnick Hag- mann (]ace) of Landenberg, Pa., Donald I. Putnick of Philadelphia, Pa., Anna P. Schenkel of Lillian BourneHavertown, Nolan Ritz Schenkel of Bryn Mawr, Pa., Rebecca Schenkel of Drexel Hill, Pa.; and great-granddaughter, Lily Conroy. She was an executive vice president for National Risk Management for 27 years. Lil- lian volunteered at All Saints' Parish Thrift Store for 12 years until June 2014. She volunteered at Beebe Medical Center for 11 years as a Guiding Light. Lillian developed a plan for a thrift store to benefit Beebe, which was ap- proved and opened one year later as The Treasure Chest. She volunteered there until June 2014. She also served as president of the Singles Seniors Beach Club. A member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, her faith and prayers from family and friends have brought her through this journey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Main Line Health HomeCare and Hos- pice, 240 Radnor Chester Road, Radnor, PA 19087. A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at noon, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach. All friends are invited.. Alton Cordrey, roofer, courier Alton Cordrey, 88, of Delmar, went peacefully to be with the Lord, while surrounded by, and in the loving care of his family Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. He was born Jan. 13, 1926, to the late Harry J. and Lida Ward Cordrey in Gumboro. Mr. Cor- drey served in the U.S. Navy, was a World War II veteran, and while on leave he returned home to marry his sweetheart, Lena Baker. Together they raised four children. Lena Alton Cordrey preceded him in death in 2002. Through that time, Alton worked as a roofer, poultry inspector with the USDA at Townsend's, and finally as a cou- rier at several banks, ending with Brooks Courier Service. He loved baseball, coin collecting, fishing and especially loved gardening. He was also a NASCAR fan of Jeff Gordon and Bobby Allison. He is survived by his four children: Jo Ann Rickards and husband Jim of Wetumpka, Ala., Phyllis Carmine and husband Richard of Laurel, Judy Jenkins and husband Philip of Delmar, and Barbara Sullivan and hus- band George, of Laurel; along with his siblings: Ruth Conaway, Gladys Baker, Bernice Ward, Dorothy Carmine and husband Bobby, Carol Moorehead and husband Richard, Bobby Cordrey and wife Nancy, and Shirley Gray.
