CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Nov. 8 - Nov. 14, 2002 - 43 Safety Day event on tap Nov. 16 in Ellendale The Ellendale Fire Company will be the site of Safety Day, a joint effort sponsored by the E1- lendale police and fire depart- ments to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16. The event is designed to pro- mote safety for youth in the com- munity. Activities targeting child safety will include a child safety seat check, a bike safety rodeo, fingerprinting, hunter safety edu- cation including a gun lock give- away, smoke detector distribution as part of the Wake Up Delaware initiative and special appearances by Deputy Bob, McGruff the Crime Dog and crash dummies Vince and Larry, Other agencies participating in- clude the Delaware Safe Kids Coalition, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Envi- ronmental Control, the Sussex County Sheriff's Office, Sussex County EMS-Paramedics, the Delaware Office of Highway Safety, and the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension.
