Delmarva Online Inc. has an- nounced its merger with Fast On- line, currently headquartered in Cambridge, Md. The merger, ef- fective Nov. l, unites two promi- nent local internet service providers employing nearly 60 team members and servicing over 18,000 residential and commer- cial internet customers on the Eastern Shore. The companies will be headquartered at Deimarva Online's corporate offices in Sal- isbury, Md. but will also continue doing business out of the Cam- bridge office. Delmarva Online is confident that all departments are equipped to handle this increase. Bob Rus- sell, president of Delmarva Online said, "We have worked diligently to prepare for this merger and have increased staff and resources wherever necessary. It is our great pleasure to have the opportunity to serve Fast Online customers, and we look forward to working with the talented and experienced Fast Online management and op- erational team to continue to pro- vide the most complete internet service on the Eastern Shore." Nathan Whitaker, former presi- dent of Fast Online, will play an integral role in Delmarva Online's and Fast Online's future success as the company's vice-president of business development. "I am excited to be merging with a com- pany that shares the same goals and values as Fast Online and I am looking forward to assuming my new position within the organ- ization. "It was of great importance to me that Fast Online become part of a company that is dedicated to providing the best local Internet access available." (DCI), has been a prominent member of the Delmarva business community since it was founded in 1967 by owner and current President, Thomas Draper.
