To celebrate, the Delaware office of Griswold Special Care recognized one of its caregivers, Ruth Miller, with the Angel Award. One of Miller's clients, Hattie Crane, shared with her caregiver how she missed her flower garden; she loved the color, pattern and scent of the flowers. Miller would take flowers to Hattie until she passed. Knowing that the flowers brought Hattie so much joy, Miller took a piece of her property and made a "Hattie Garden." Miller takes the abundance from the gar- den and shares it with people in the community who need a boost. A local church took cut- tings for a Memorial Day service from the "Hattie Garden." The garden keeps Hattie Crane's memory alive and brings joy to others in the community. The Angel Award was presented to Ruth Miller at Browseabout Books. The store is owned by Steve Crane, Hattie's son. For her generous and loving spirit, Miller received a plaque and a monetary award from the corporate office of Griswold Special Care and a gift certificate from Browseabout Books. Shown are (l-r) Cheryl Jankowski, Griswold Special Care manager;, Ruth Miller, Angel Award recipient; Steve Crane, owner of Browseabout Books; and Mary Anne Murray, director of the Delaware offices of Griswold Special Care.
