72 - CAPE GAZETrE, Friday, Nov. 19 - Nov. 22, 2004 Jean &Joan Fund raises money for -cancer center The Jean & Joan Fund Commit- tee drew more than 100 golfers from northern Delaware, Pennsyl- vania, New Jersey, Maryland and Sussex County to its fifth annual Jean & Joan Fund Golf Tourna- ment at the Kings Creek Golf Club Oct. 5. The event raised $29,000 to fund cancer services at Beebe Medical Center. The Jean & Joan Fund Commit- tee presented its check to the Tun- nell Cancer Center Nov 15. Since the first tournament in 2000, the fund has donated $129,000 for pa: tient care and assistance, includ- ing emergency equipment, a diag- nostic center to monitor patients' vital signs, an Image Recovery and Education Center, and last year, a van to transport patients to the Center.
