76 - cAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Nov. 19 - Nov. 22, 2004 Karen Strassle, John Skoglund exchange wedding vows Karen Elizabeth Strassle and John David Skoglund were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 at St. Thomas Preservation Hall in Wilm- ington, N.C. The Rev. Ronald Adams officiated. The bride is the daughter of Lyle and Sara Strassle of Wilmington, N.C. and the late Suzanne C. Strassle. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carter of Portland, Maine, Ms. Elaine D. Carter of Wilmington, N.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Strassle of Salamanca, N.Y. The groom is the son of Ruth Sponaugle Skoglund of Lewes and Greg Skoglund, also of Lewes. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joyce Sponaugle and the late William J. Sponaugle of Rehoboth Beach, the late Mrs. Ellen Shank of Harrisonburg, Va. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Skoglund of Tacoma, Wash. Friend of the bride, Bonnie Dixon Moss of Wilm- ington, N.C. served as the matron of honor. Brides- maids include Rachel Brooks of Raleigh, N.C., Anna Creagh of Asheville. N.C., Sidney Dixon of Greens- boro, N.C., Corisa Ford of Coatesville, Pa. and Claire Stoecker of Salt Lake City, Utah. Rebecca Sponaugle, cousin of the groom of Milton, served as flower girl. Paul Sponaugle, cousin of the groom from Rehoboth Beach, served as best man. Grooms- men were Patrick Irelan of Rehoboth Beach, Brett Melson of Milton, Jason Parsley and Stephen Sponaugle of Rehoboth Beach, and Ryan Strassle of Wilmington. Musicians for the wedding included Connie Collier, pianist, and Madison Bunting, gui- tarist. Sidney Dixon and Willie Talbott were vocal- ists. Rachel Miller and Shawn Lewallen provided readings. Following the wedding ceremony, a recep- tion was held at Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington. The bride graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in chemistry. She is employed by PPD in Wilmington. The groom graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in communications. He is employed by Finkelstein's Music in Wilmington, N.C.
