86 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Nov. 19 - Nov. 22, 2004 Submitted photo St. Peter's youth attend summer mission For three days this summer, members of St. Peter's Episco. pal Church youth group learned about how third world coun- tries can ,become more self-sufficient. The group traveled to Heifer International in Massachu- setts where they helped take care of camels, zoes (a mix be- tween a cow and a yak), goats, pigs, chickens, llamas, don- keys, horses and rabbits that would be sent to foreign coun- tries. They also got to meet Beatrice, a girl who grew up in Ugan- da, Africa who sold milk from the goat she received from Heifer International, in order to raise money to go to school. She is the inspiration for the book, "Beatrice's Goat." On their final night at Heifer, youth group members were divided into three groups, and slept in dwellings and ate food exactly like that of the average family in Guatemala, Thai- land or China. Then on their way home, they camped overnight and spent an afternoon at Hershey Park. Shown (l-r) are Loralne Papp, Fr. Mark Harris, McKinnon and Montana de Kuyper, Monica Welch, Tavish and Tyler Papp, Brian Meyers and Grace and Peggy Naylor. Lydia and Ian Miller met up with the group in Massachusetts. • Trunk Show Connie Collis .will be showing her Holiday Collection of Beautiful Handbags, Necklaces & Bracelets.
