Nov. 22, 2004.93 Lewes Presbyterian Church to host bazaar Dec. 4 The Lewes Presbyterian Church will hold its Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p:m., in the downstairs social hall on Satur- day, Dec. 4, during the annual Christmas Tour of Lewes. Tours of the facility will be provided for all interested visitors to the bazaar. The sanctuary, which is the original church, built in 1832, will be decorated for the Christ- mas season, and all proceeds from the bazaar will be donated to the Sanctuary Renovation Fund. A light lunch of hot dogs, chips and soda will be available, as will homemade soup and pies. Several tables will provide items for sale including crafts, greens, stuffed bears, baked goods, florals and fancies and almost new items. "A Nickel in the Cup," a church history written by Judith Atkins Roberts, will be for sale for $10. Proceeds from the book will also be donated to the sanctuary fund. The newest cookbook published by the church, "Heavenly Recipes," will also be for sale for $10. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each,' or six for $5, for several items, including a framed cross stitch Christmas picture, a French doll with handmade outfits, a mariner's mirror, an apartment tool kit, a glass jellyfish by Con- nie Ballato and a handwoven table runner woven by Gladys Shaw. The raffle items will be on display in the Welcome Center. During the day, music will be offered by Connie Ballato on her hammered dulcimer. Parking is available on the lot Holidays will sparkle in Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Those who plan to visit the Re- hoboth Beach-Dewey Beach area during the holidays will be treated to the Boardwalk of Lights (Re- hoboth) and holiday lights (Dewey). Holiday displays in- clude poinsettias, snowflakes, candy canes, Christmas trees, sea- horses, seashells, reindeer, a mer- maid, dolphin, star, snowman, train, penguin, duck, polar bear, igloo, lighthouse and more. The light displays are spon- sored by the Atlantic Sands Hotel, Best Western/Gold Leaf, Board- walk Plaza Hotel, Breakers Hotel, Brighton Suites, City of Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach Lions Club, Grand Rental Station, Lighthouse Inn Bed & Breakfast, Nicola Piz- za, Ocean Retreat Day Spa, Re- hoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, Rusty Rudder Restaurant, Sea-Esta Mo- tels, Sea Shell Shop, Sharky's Grill, Town of Dewey Beach, Vil- lage Improvement Association and Wilmington Trust. Santa has announced his hours and new house location for taking Christmas orders. Santa's new lo- cation will be on the Boardwalk at Rehoboth Avenue. The chamber will provide participating schools with paper mittens that each child may deco- rate and place the name of a fami- ly member or friend who has or who is currently serving in the United States military as a thank you for his/her service. The chamber will match each mitten made with a real child's mitten to be used as decoration on or near Santa's house on the Boardwalk. Paper mittens will be displayed in store fronts in downtown Re- hoboth Beach during the holiday season beginning at the tree-light- ing ceremony on Friday, Nov. 26 until the new year.
