114 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Nov. 19 - Nov. 22, 2004 Mills Continued from page 113 Donato said Mills is a unique person, not like anyone he's met in his 30 years in the food service business. "It's wonderful to see how he develops relationships with peo- ple. The customers really love him and he makes the customers feel special," Donato said. Donato said he's helping Mills in any way that he can "because it's the right thing to do." "Its great to be part of a com- munity like this. You just don't see that anymore," Donato said. The restaurant will have its last seating for Sunday brunch at 1 p.m., and will be closed during the sold-out benefit scheduled to run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Donato said he expects "a flow" of up to 160 people for the event. Mills said that although he has health insurance, the number of things not covered has added up quickly. "The savings start dwindling • pretty fast," he said. Help in doing the day-to-day things has been coming from friends and coworkers, and Mills says that Phil Sugg, his partner of 20 years, has been unwavering. Mills, who grew up in Mary- land with 10 brothers and sisters and whose father was a "mechan- ic by day and a Pentecostal minis- ter by night," says he thinks there's a message in what's hap- pened in his life. "I feel like God's obviously not done with me yet. He's got some- thing else in store. I just need to keep my eyes open and see what that is." And the reason you'll yet have a chance to meet Phil Mills is that he's positive that he's going to be around. "I'm going to be back at The Buttery serving dinner with a smile on my face," he said. • Bobick to exhibit at Caf Zeus Post-modern painter Jim Bobick of Lewes is currently showing recent works at Caf6 Zeus, 37 Wilmington Ave., Rehoboth Beach, through January.
