Obituaries Continued from page 33 Nancy R. McMahon, officer at R.V. McMahon Nancy R. McMahon, 64, of Neevark and Lewes, died Wednes- day, Nov. 18, 1998, at Christiana Hospital in Newark. Mrs. McMahon was the secre- tary and treasurer of R.V. McMa- hon Heating and Air Conditioning for the past 12 years. Prior to that, she was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Vic McMahon; two daughters, Nancy Ruth Marion of Newark and Vickie Ann McMa- hon of Lewes; a son, Rick McMa- hon of Lewes; two brothers, Lawrence Ashby and Donald Wil- son, both of Wilmington; a sister, Alexis Janes of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren. Service and burial were private. Contributions are stiggested to the American Heart Association, 1096 Old Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19713. Mabel H. Staats, retired bookkeeper Mabel H. Staats, 88, of Smyrna, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, in IHS of Delaware at Kent Nurs- ing Home, Smyrna. Mrs. staats worked as a book- keeper for the state Board of Health for 27 years before retiring in 1970. She and her husband owned and operated Staats Gas Sei'vice in Smyrna for 30 years. She was an active and long-stand- ing member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Smyrna. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William R. Staats; a son, Kenneth V. Ne,berg of Smyrna; two granddaughters, Sta- cy Hearn of Millsboro and Bar- bara Newberg of Smyrna; two nephews, Carl P. King of Stuart, Fla., and Lewes, and Bradley E. King of Hobe Soutad, Fla.; a niece, Doris Carter of Dover; two great- grandchildren and several grand- nieces and grand-nephews. Edward C. McCaffrey, Cape Region bartender Edward Charles McCaffrey, 61, of Lewes, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at home. Mr. McCaffrey was a bartender at the former DeBraak Restaurant, Angler's Restaurant and Fisher- man's Wharf Restaurant, all in Lewes. He retired in 1995. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was a volunteer at Casa San Francisco in Milton, and was an avid golfer and sports fan.
