DECEMBER 3. 2012 59 LEWES FIRE DEPARTMENT AUXILIARY HOSTS PARADE SALE SUBMITTED PHOTO THE LEWES FIRE DEPARTMENT AUXILIARY Will sell hot cocoa and hot dogs before and duringthe Lewes Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 1. This year, members will also sell Lewes Fire Department T-shirts in chil- dren's and toddlers' sizes with the slogan Stay Back 200 Feet embtazoned on the back. Auxiliary cookbooks will also be available for purchase. President Kathy Reinhart suggests, "Both items (:an be used as wonderful gifts or stock- ing stuffers.' Since 1796, citizens of Lewes have stepped forward to join the ranks of the town's volunteer fire service. For 200 years, the association has been filled with men and women wantingto serve others. Since 2009, the LFD once again boasts an auxiliary with the same mission: to serve:Information will be on hand for anyone interested in joining the auxiliary. La Esperanza appoints Claudia Peffa Porretti as new executive director La Esperanza in Georgetown recently announced the appoint- ment of its new Executive Direc- tor Claudia Pefia Porretti, ]D, CFRE. With more than 15 years of ex- perience in the nonprofit sector, she was the director of develop- ment for People's Place in Mil- ford and also executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana. Prior to the ACLU, she worked in several di- rector positions and served in various board member positions of nonprofit organizations in In- diana. Pefia Porretti holds a ]D from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a BS in business administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology. She also has at- tained the designation of Certi- fied Fund Raising Executive and has studied at The Fund Rais- ing School at In- diana Universi- ty's The Center of Philanthropy. A Cuban American, Pefia Porretti has a long history of ClaudiaPorretti service to the Latino commu- nity while living in Connecticut, Indiana and Delaware, and she was secretary of the Hispanic Law Society while in law school. She is a member of the Associa- tion of Fundraising Professionals Brandywine Chapter and a 2012 cabinet committee member of the United Way of Delaware.
