, Cape Gazette ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30 = MONDAY, DECEMBER 3 2012 83 DEWEY BEACH CELEBRATES THE SEASON A fire helps to keep some of the Dewey Beach celebrants warm. STEVEN BILLUPS PHOTOS THE DEWEY BEACH CIVIC LEAGUE held its 3rd annual holiday tree lighting party Nov. 24 in front of Fifer's Orchards Market along Route I in Dewey Beach. With help from local businesses, food and drinks kept the holiday spirit going on a windy, cold night. Keith Mack and Ed Shockley provided the holiday music as the gathered crowd awaited the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus and the lighting of the tree. Shown welcoming Santa and Mrs. Claus to Dewey Beach is Pep. Pe- te Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach. Celebrating as a family are (l-r) Michele, Skip, Kate and Matt Jessup and Caitlin Power. Charlie Stewart celebrates his first tree lighting party with his father, Andrew. Emily Gordon keeps an eye out for the arrival of Santa Claus in the arms of her parents Brian and Lisa. Happy to get their .favorite time of the year started are (l-r) Rayne Ruarle and Faith and Jessica Thompson. Mary Grace Connor sings a final song after the tree lighting. Representing one of the many Dewey businesses keeping the celebrants fed is Jimmy O'Connor from Woody's Bar and Grill in Dewey Beach.
