CAPE GAZETTE - Friday, December 1 - Monday, December 4, 2006- 113 Festival of Carols, Lessons for Advent set Dec. 3 +at Peter&apos;s George Bayley to lead traditional performance St. Peter's Choir, under the direction of Organist/Choirmaster George Bayley, will present its annual Festival of Carols and Lessons at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. This traditional presentation is based on the famous Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols as developed by King's College Chapel Choir of Cambridge, England. The music will include "In the Year King Uzziah Died" com- posed by George Bayley; "Advent Introit" written by Lewes compos- er Roo Brown and based on the carol "O Come, O Come Emmanuel"; the carol "People Look East"; "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming", "The White : Dove", arr. by Johannes Brahms; "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Atlanta composer Jeffrey McConnaughey; "Never Night Rainbow Chorale of Delaware to give concert++ Dec. 16-17 in Wilmington The Rainbow Chorale . of Delaware, the first,state's only LGBT choir, will present Natalis, a concert of holiday music with 10-piece string orchestra featuring traditional favorites and its own take on A Charlie Brown Christmas. The concert takes place at 8 p.m., Dec. 16, and 4 p.m., Dec. 17 at the First & Central Presbyterian Church on Rodney Square in Wilmington. Performances will begin promptly and a reception will immediately follow Saturday's performance. Now in its eighth year, The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware has become a musical institution and enjoys frequent sell-out audi- ences. Its holiday program will feature Frank Tichelli's "There Shall Be Rest," Gerald Finzi's "In Terra Pax" and David Diamond's "Shehashalom Shelo." All per- formances will be conducted by Elliott Jones, Artistic Director and accompanied by Hiroko Yamazaki on piano. The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware is a volunteer, nonprofit community chorus that provides lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgendered persons and their friends opportunities to perform choral music in a supportive and affirming environment.
