Friday, December 1  Monday, December 4,2006 - 115 Arts grants workshop set for Jan. 9 in Milford The Delaware Division of the Arts is sponsoring a grant information workshops about fiscal year 2008 grant applications from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Milford Public Library. For more information, go to www.artsdel.org. Possum Point to present 'A Christmas Carol' Possum Point Players will bring "A Christmas Carol" to the Del Tech stage. "A Christmas Carol" is an adaptation of Dickens"classic and is particularly suited to children. It features a score by Broadway com- poser Jule Syne and incorporates family ties, language, literary classic, music and reading. Performances will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at Delaware Technical and Community College Theatre in Georgetown. Tickets are $6 each and may be reserved by call the PPP Ticketline at 856-4560. Cape Artists host Weaver Jan. 17-19 The Cape Artists will host Pat Weaver for the workshop, "Watercolor Simplified," from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 17-19, at the Grange in Lewes. Fee for the workshop is $150 Pat Weaver's teaching career spans more than 25 year, taking her to Europe, Mexico and the Bahamas. for members and $175 for non- members. Weaver's approach to painting in watercolor is direct and sponta- neous. Her teaching career spans more than 25 year, taking her to Europe, Mexico and the Bahamas, as well as many venues in the U.S. Weaver will introduce students to painting an Ampersand Textured Watercolor Board as well as creative uses for watercol- or pencils. Students will work from photographs and still-life setups. Any subject matter may be painted in this class. Weaver's book, "Watercolor Simplified," published by North Light in 2003, has been well received.
