This year's frosty dip in the ocean is set to take place at noon, Saturday, ]an. I on the beach at Garfield Park- way in Bethany Beach. All splashers registered be- fore Saturday, Dec. 25, are guar- anteed a long-sleeved event shirt. The group that forms the largest commercial, noncom- mercial or student team will win the coveted Iceberg Trophy. A portion of the net proceeds of this event benefit the Quiet Re- sorts Charitable Foundation, and 100 percent of the dona- tions raised by participants go directly back to the community through scholarships and grants for local nonprofit organiza- tions. Participants can get spon- sored those who are too chicken to brave the icy waters for a chance to win gift.cards and/or a pizza party for up to 20. The fund is a representation of local churches, private individu- als and local businesses con- cerne.d with the welfare of indi- viduals living in Kent County who abe less fortunate or find themselves in a crisis situation.
