Dennis Forney photo Clear Channel promotes CMBIC Clear Channel, one of the world's largest outdoor advertis- ing companies, recently joined forces with the Charles Mills Boulevard Improvement Corporation (CMBIC) to promote improvements and safety on the boulevard between the Nas- sau overpass and Seashore State Park. Clear Channel has donated Route 1 billboard space to promote this scene by Abraxas, at Chesapeake Street overlooking the ocean in Dewey Beach. The scene was chosen by CMBIC as symbolic of the Charles Mills Boulevard's role as Gateway to Delaware's Cape Region and beach resorts. Full-color signed prints of the scene are available for $100 through or through Pro- ceeds benefit the CMBIC initiative. CMBIC is administering a federal transportation enhancement grant that will see the installation of approximately $500,000 in landscaping at the north gateway of the boulevard in the spring of 2003. This billboard placement, according to Clear Channel, is an exam- ple of how the billboard medium has the potential to deco- rate, or "picture-frame" outdoor vistas with fine art to in- spire viewers. Local sponsors of the boulevard initiative in- clude Jack Lingo Realtor, Hudson Homes, Sussex Emergency Associates, Sussex County Council, Ocean Atlantic Associ- ates, Rex Inc., Lockwood Family of Companies and the Cape Gazette. Services Continued from page 64 "Sometimes I work against my- self, but the goal is to provide the best care possible for the elderly." Health insurance usually does not cover Hackney's service; sometimes, however, long-term care will. The cost of the service is between $14 and $16 per hour. An individual can purchase eight to 10 hours of home care per day for less than a nursing home costs, said Hackney. For more informa- tion call 644-1490 or 302-559- 7755.
