46 - CAPE GAZETI, Friday, December 11 - December 17, 1998 Bob Evano s Restaurant to open Dec. 14 at Midway around $2.99. Sandwiches cost Pass the biscuits please. Bob Evans, known for its down- home-style food and mammoth breakfasts, will open its Cape Re- gion restaurant at 6 a.m. on Mon- day, Dec. 14. The business will be located on Route 1 at Postal Lane and is lo- cated directly across the road from the Midway Shopping Center. Bob Evans has 409 restaurants spread across the nation, includ- ing restaurants in Dover and Mil- ford. The restaurant specializes in moderate priced, homestyle food with specialties like biscuits and gravy, the breakfast sunshine skil- let, turkey and dressing, pot roast sandwiches, country fried steak and stuffed pork chops. Bob Evans will seat 129 people and 50 cents from each opening day dinner will be donated to the Children's Beach House. The restaurant will be open for busi- ness Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Prices range up to $7.29 for breakfast, although there are 10 breakfast savor offerings for approximately $4 to $5 and dinner entrees range up to $9.29 for a half slab of ribs. Most entrees are considerably less. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, although it is best known for its breakfast, in- cluding the sunshine skillet, an omelette brimming over with top- pings of home fries, sausage, country gravy and cheese, and the rise and shine, which features bis- cuits, two eggs, bacon or sausage and home fries. There is a senior menu with re- duced prices and a carryout menu. In addition to breakfast savors, there is also a menu of lunch sa- vors, ten lunches for around $4. Bob Evans Farms is also a lead- ing producer of pork sausage un- der the Bob Evans and Owens brand names. Other operations in- clude Mrs. Giles Country Kitchens, a producer of fresh dell salads, and Hickory Specialties, which manufactures charcoal and smoke flavoring products. Bob Evans founded the compa- ny in 1946 with a 12-seat restau- rant. The company today em- ploys 33,000 people. Creatable Crafts to hold RES playground fundraiser Creatable Crafts will hold a fundraise for the Rehoboth Elementary School Playground Fund from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, at the shop, 146 Rehoboth Avenue. Creatable Crafts will donate 50 percent of all studio fees collected at day to the playground funds.
