Submitted photo Rehoboth Outlets announces winners Rehoboth Outlets recently held a "Register to Win" contest from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, and two Delaware residents came away with prizes valued at $250 each. The winners were Thomas Reid of Selbyville and Dorothy McNew of Wilmington. Reid won a $250 gift certificate from Savane, and McNew won a 5- piece Chippendale tea and coffee service from Onieda. Rehoboth Outlets holds four "Register to Win" contests per year. Boxes are placed in each store and customers are en- couraged to fill out entry cards. In return for filling out the card, customers have the chance to win prizes donated by dif- ferent stores throughout the outlets. The information collect- ed from the cards is used by the outlets to define their cus- tomer base for different times of the year. The next "Register to Win" will be held Feb. 11-14. Only one entry per family is ac- cepted. Shown are Brooke Dunston, right, administrative assistant of marketing for Rehoboth Outlets, and Frances Reid, left, picking up the prize for Thomas Reid. Quilt Continued from page 52 ing ability is something that has come naturally since he started stitching in 1969. "I just can't stand to sit around without my hands doing some- thing," he said, laughing. "Plus, it keeps me out of trouble." Not only is it a favorite pastime, but Ulrich said he enjoys watching all the colors and designs take shape once his creation is com- plete. "It's just something that you need lots of practice to learn," said Ulrich. "It's kind of like driving a car. Once you've done it so much, you don't even have to concen- trate to do it anymore." After Pantry owners Nancy Cleveland and Kitty Watson com- missioned him for the assignment, Ulrich said he met with them, de- cided on the pattern and began working immediately. Working for a couple of hours a day, Ulrich said he was able to complete the quilt in a couple of months. Cleveland said she and Watson wanted to contribute to a worthy cause for the holiday season and saw the quilt raffle as a creative way of benefitting the community. It's not the first time The Pantry has given to a worthy cause, nor will it be the last, said Cleveland. The establishment has donated a portion of its sales to other organi- zations and she said they plan to organize more projects in the fu- ture.
