FAUST, READ ALOUD VOLUNTEERS ATTEND HOLIDAY LUNCHEON Southern Delaware has a new community information radio station, WWSX on-air at 99.1FM, and online at RadioRehoboth. com. From Lewes and Rehoboth Beach to Dewey Beach and sur- rounding areas, the nonprofit radio station will provide news, events and entertainment for visitors and residents, supporting local businesses and communi- ties. Radio Rehoboth will partner with town, county and state of- ficials to broadcast important, up-to-the-minute information and activities. With the goal of a more prosperous neighborhood economy, the station will partner with businesses and restaurants to promote events including live broadcasting. The station's management in- cludes a team of experienced media and marketing profes- sionals including broadcasting pioneer and Emmy-award-win- ning executive producer and director Tom Dooley, local busi- ness owners Jeff Balk of Snyder's Candy and David Forman of Visiting Angels. Balk and Forman both have extensive marketing experience. Balk has owned re- gional and national media sales companies, and Forman has a New York City-based public re- lations and marketing company with corporate clients. Balk said, "The very local na- ture of Radio Rehoboth and the immediacy of relevant content will be great for tourism. Stream- ing content at radiorehoboth.com will allow people to tune in from anywhere in advance of visits to our beach resorts; and be acces- sible to all fans from anywhere from their mobile devices." Forman said, "Retail business, restaurants and bars will reach an extremely targeted audience of consumers just as they are actively looking for shopping, dining and entertainment. Other businesses and organizations will benefit from joining a large community of local and visiting listeners in tune to what's hap- pening throughout Southern Delaware." WWSX99.1FM is now broad- casting holiday music, helpful holiday tips and local events from its Rehoboth Beach studios. Sunday morning programming will feature sermons from local churches, and leading national speakers. After the New Year, listeners can expect entertain- ing programming and reports from professional organizations, chambers of commerce, trans- portation services, parks and recreation officials, boating, fish- ing, water sports, restaurants and nightlife businesses. Broadcasting from the top of its Rehoboth Studios, the station now reaches Southern Delaware beach communities from Lewes to Dewey Beach, with plans to move its transmitter to a higher tower on Route 1 which will greatly extend its already impres- sive coverage area to include coastal towns further south and additional surrounding areas. To meet this objective and to cover general operating expenses, Ra- dio Rehoboth 99.1 FM is actively seeking title and programming sponsors.
