Obituaries Richard A. Peters, aeronautical engineer Richard A. Peters, 68, of Hen- lopen Acres, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, of acute myocardial in- farction at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Mr. Peters was an aeronautical and aerospace engineer, and served as'a 747 captain for Pan American World Airlines for 32 years. He was a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves for 38 years, and served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wright flying single-engine fighter air craft. He was a veteran of the Ko- rean War. Mr. Peters, a life member of the NRA, was interested in electron- ics, riflery and auto mechanics. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mignon M. Peters; three sons, Thomas of Jupiter, Fla., Daniel and his wife Leilani, of Haleiwa, Hawaii, and John of Re- hoboth Beach; three daughters, Jean Kenton and her husband, Herb, of Lewes, Elizabeth Barry and her husband, Kevin, of New Paltz, N.Y., and Kathryn Peters of New Paltz; and five grandchil- dren. Services were held at Westmin- ster Presbyterian Church, Re- hoboth Beach, with burial private. Helen Marie Donovan, Legion member Helen Marie Donovan, 73, of Lewes, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewes. Mrs Donovan, a homemaker. Services were held in Atkins- Lodge Chapel of Parsell Funeral Services, Lewes, with burial in Henlopen Memorial Parkl Milton. John W. Bishop, Pearl Harbor survivor John W. Bishop, 73, of Lewes, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1997, of heart failure at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Mr. Bishop was a self-em- ployed barber and was employed at Beebe Medical Center for 41 years, serving in various capaci- ties, including laboratory techni- cian, x-ray technician, biomedical technician and inhalation thera- pist, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of World War H, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a sur- vivor of the attack on Pearl Har- bor. He was a memberof St. P ter's ElfiSe0Pal Church., lewes.
