Tuttle, president and CEO of the Easter Seal Society of Del-Mar Inc., recently announced the addition of new board members and the return of officers for the 1997-98 year. The returning officers are: chair, Elizabeth Browning, worldwide marketing director for DuPont Lycra; first vice chair, John Hentkowksi, president of Hentkowski Plumbing and Heating; second vice chair, Ronald W. Davies, vice-chair/technology officer of MBNA; treasur- er, Paul Roessel, director of business development at DuPont Merck; and secretary, Frank Newton, deputy state treasurer, State of Delaware. The following board members were elected: James H. Stallkamp, president of Bankers Trust (Del.), who previously served as chair of the Easter Seals board; Gerry Baker, vice president of Integrated Health Care for DuPont Merck; Linda Paradee, Dover travel consultant; Althea McDowell, Esq., University of Delaware coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act; Harrison C. Bristoll, former board member;, and Linda Kearns, communications brand manag- er for DuPont Lycra. Free blood pressure screening in Milford The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will offer a free blood pressure screening at the new Mil- ford Senior Center, I ! I Park Ave. in Milford, on Monday, Dec. 22, from l0 a.m. to noon. A registered nurse from the Christiana Care VNA will conduct the screening, which is open to the public. For information, call Sylvia Gilmore, R.N., at 422-2010. Donated used vehicles aid Kidney Foundation Individuals who have an unwanted car, truck, boat or motorhome (running or not) may donate it to the National Kidney Foundation's "Kidney Cars" pro- gram. The used vehicles will be sold to finance research, patient service and public education programs. Kidney Cars will tow the vehi- cle for free and leave the owner with an end-of-the-year tax deduc- tion. For more information, call 1- 800-488-CARS.  Qet a cancer gf Tobacco Free Delaware gives quitting tips to smokers As a result of a series of advertisements on the risks of smoking and the rewards of quitting, Tobacco Free Delaware has received hundreds of calls from smokers who want to know how to "kick the habit." Victor DeNoble, program manager, is concerned thai smokers recog- nize that tobacco use is not a habit but a disease called addiction. "Our series of info-ads addressed the therapies available to smokers who want to end a serious addiction," DeNoble said. There are many methods available for smokers who want to quit, including a new prescription medication designed to help smokers deal with the cravings and mood swings associated with nicotine withdraw- al.
