Erik Sumption photo Lewes Cub Scout,Pack collects for Toys for Tots Cub Scout Pack 2540 out of Lewes collected 86 gifts during their December drive for Toys for Tots. The final tally was made and gifts collected by the Marine Corps League who are the central Sussex Country representatives for Toys for Tots during the pack meeting Dec. 15. Fund for Women announces 2004 grant Program Two workshops on program planning and development, spon- sored by the Fund for Women at the Delaware Community Foun- dation, will be presented in Janu- ary by Dr. Pamela Leland of the University of Delaware. The workshops are sponsored by the Fund for Women in conjunction with its 2004 grant program. In addition to providing tools to as- sist in the grant proposal process, these workshops provide an op- portunity for nonprofit agency staffs to network and share infor- mation with their peers. The first workshop Will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Jan. 20 at the Community Service Building on lOO w. 10th Street in Wilmington. The second will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 27 at the Mil- ford Public Library, located at 11 S. Front Street. The Fund is accepting applica- tions from nonprofit organiza- tions for programs that prepare girls and women to lead produc- tive, self-sufficient lives and that address unmet needs. It offers an opportunity to obtain seed money for innovative, creative program- ming or to continue or expand programs whose effectiveness has been demonstrated. Since 1994, $500,000 has been awarded to agencies throughout Delaware, In 2003, six grants went to statewide projects serving women and girls, six went to Kent and Sussex projects and four to New Castle County. Those in either area may attend whichever workshop is most con- venient.
