Millsboro announces holiday decorating contest winners Officials of the Greater Mills- bore Chamber of Commerce have announced the winners of the or- ganization's third annual holiday decorating contest. The competi- tion was open to all residences and businesses within the 19966 ZIP code, and was cosponsored by Masten's Lumber and Supply. Each entry was awarded points on the basis of originality, creativ- ity, illumination and animation. Prizes, donated by local business- es, were awarded in the categories of best residential, best commer- cial, best nativity (residential or commercial) and judge's award (residential or commercial). Chamber president Lenny S. Brittingham of Wilmington Trust said participation in the contest has grown with each successive year. Here's a list of the winners: Best residential - 1. Clarence and Mary Gicker of Pot Nets, who received gift certificates from An- tique Bouquet and Grotto Pizza, and a holiday cookbook from Vil- lage Green Paperback Exchange. 2. Jack and Ruth Korbobo, of Bay City, who received a gift certifi- cate from Antique Alley, a carpet cleaning kit from Long Neck Car- pet, and a faucet set from Fergu- son Enterprises. 3. Jeff and Lana Robb, who live off Route 20 near Country Living Trailer Court, who won a heavy duty power cord from Masten's, a wrought iron candle holder from Tri-State Mo- bile Home Supply, and a T-shirt from Slower Lower T-Shirt Com- pany. Best Commercial - 1. Village Green Florist, in the Village Green complex on Route 24 East, received gift certificates from Middlesex Building and Roofing, and Dutch Oven Restaurant, and a heavy duty power cord from Mas- ten's. 2. Village Developers Inc. won for the entrance to Magnolia Meadows on Old Landing Road. Their prizes include a holly from Frank Smith Nursery, gourmet coffee from Indian River Espres- so, and a heavy duty power cord from Masten's. Best Nativity - Jeanne LeRoy, of River Village in Oak Orchard, received a gift certificate from East Coast Perennials and an en- gravable ornament from Heath- man Jewelers in Dagsboro. Judges' Award - Charles and Joan Hudson, who lives on the corner on Routes 24 West and Road 472, received a gift certifi- cate from Millsboro Bazaar and a holiday arrangement from Village Green Florist. Farm and toy show benefits KSI Jan. 30 The 8th annual Blue Hen Farm Toy and truck Show will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Milford's Carlisle Fire Hall. Vendors from throughout Delmarva will be set up to buy, sell and trade. Admission is $3. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. The event will feature door prizes, concession stands and raffles.There will be a mini-tractor pull at 11 a.m. For details, call 422-4014, Ext. 3138. New Chefs at the Rose & Crown Restaurant The Rose & Crown would like to announce the addition of two Professional Chefs to our kitchen staff. Jim Paslawski is the new Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager and Joshua Wiggins the new Sous Chef. Both are from another popular Lewes restaurant and bring with them the culinary expertise to make dining at the Rose & Crown an even better experience. Our new winter dinner menu will be completed soon and will have some delicious new entrees as well as your current favorites. We are now accepting reservations for our New Year's Eve Dinner and Party. There are two seatings for our New Year's Eve four course meal. The first seating is $30.00 per person and you can be seated anytime between 5:00-6:00pro.
