CAPE GAZETTE, Thursday, December 24 - December 30, 1998 - 65 'We Are the Dream' theme for Dr. MLK Celebration weekend "We Are the Dream," is the theme for this year's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Weekend, Saturday, Jan. 16 to Monday, Jan. 18. The weekend events start at 11 a.m. Saturday with the annual pa- rade, hosted this year by the Town of Millsboro. The parade will line up at 10 a.m. at the Millsboro Civic Cen- ter/Millsboro Town Hall on Mitchell Street. The deadline for parade entries is Dec. 31. Family YMCA is selling tickets for its annual Mama Jama Pool Party fundraiser, set for 7-11 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23. The party will be held to raise funds for a new six-lane, 25-yard indoor pool, currently under con- struction in anticipation of an April opening. annual dinner banquet, which will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at the BayCenter in Dewey Beach. This year's banquet will feature the Jazz Company, who will per- form "Decades of Change," a mu- sical reflection of the life and times of the civil rights leader. The hour-long presentation in- cludes music and drama to high- light King's journey, from 1952 until the day of his assassination. The program has been presented in national venues_colleges, churches and civic organizations.
