40 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, December 26 - January 1, 1998 RES presents 'A Christmas Carol' Dana Mark as Tiny Tim raises a glass in cheer as Scrooge, played by Josh Woertz, finally realizes the true meaning of Christmas in the presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christ- mas Carol," held Dec. 16. The cast was comprised of sixth grade students at Rehoboth Elementary School and also included Tyler Clark as Bob Cratchitt, Shaven Wilcox as Fred, Marten Elder as Jacob Mar- ley, Regina McLaughlin as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Clare Nowakowski as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Clarissa Chenoweth as the Ghost of Christmas Future, Abigail Sadlere, Betsy Hicks and Lindsay Wareing as charity work- ers, Kurt Stephens as the boy. Carolers were Mykell Henry, Jessica Charles, Ronee Ro- driguez, Kristi Lukach, Matt Husbands, Carissa Vescovi, Nicole Rhoades, Amanda Hildebrand and Alex Glorioso. Cratchitt's family was played by Nick Hill, Arin Richter, Sara Price and Peggy Dudziak, with Fred's family played by Janes- sa Brooks, Sasha Tunnell, Matt Husbands and Jessica Brad- ford. Narrators were Brian Lee, Jo Lynch, Greg Collins, Leeanne Hazzard and Megan Couchman, with Chris Breeding, Bret Hertel and Kristen Matthews working the curtains. Cape Henlopen coach Sam Griffin and Cape students Kristen Foery, Beth Redden, Bryan Rud- dy and Matthew Wilcox went head to head with Laurel High School's team in the Texaco Star Academic Challenge (TSAC) on Comcast Cable (TCN25) in Sus- sex County on Tuesday, Dec. 23, The second showing was a special time since it will be preempted from its normal time slot the fol- lowing day by Christmas pro- gramming. The program will also air on WDOV radio (1410 AM) on Sun- day, Dec. 28, at 10:30 a.m. The award-winning program, now in its 10th season, pits four- person teams from Delaware high schools in fast-paced academic All courses will be held at the Cape Henlopen High School busi- ness lab and all courses will meet from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The instructors for this series will be either Dean Dey or Lori Roe.
