Hollydays highlight is Family Night Dec. 26 Even though Christmas has passed, there are still plenty of holiday activities planned for the Cape Region, beginning Friday, Dec. 26, with a Storybook Theater at the Jazz Joint in Rehoboth. Oth- er events include the exciting Slam Dunk to the Beach basket- ball tournament and the continua- tion of Coastal Delaware Holly- days, which began Dec. 22 and will continue through Saturday, Jan. 3. The Storybook Theater will be hosted by S.A.F.E., a Lewes- based nonprofit organization cre- ated to aid women and their fami- lies by offering the support need- ed to improve the quality of their family relationships. There will be both a 6 and 7:30 p.m perfor- mance of the live presentation, "The Elves and the Shoemaker. There is no charge for the show, but donations to S.A.F.E. are wel- come. Refreshments will be served. After the show, audience members are invited to stop by next door at Sydney's to hear Walt Hedfield and Prairie Dogs, including members of the local group, the Channel Surfers. Also on Friday, Dec. 26, Holly- days will sponsor a Family Night Open House at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. The event is timed to coincide with the opening of the Slam Dunk To The Beach, which begins Friday with a dinner at the BayCenter for the participating teams. The Open House, which will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., will offer an evening of fun for the families and friends of the players, as well as for local residents. The evening's activities include games for the kids and door prizes, and a disc jockey will spin tunes for dancing. There will also be plenty of refreshments. There's no admission fee, but organizers hope that enough donations will be received from the community to offset the $600 cost of renting the hall.
