Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park elect officers
The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park elected executive officers at their Jan. 10 meet-
ing. Shown (l-r) are: Thomas Nobile, president; Jack Schultz, vice president; Dennis Nield,
treasurer and Chris Bennett, secretary.
The Friends invite active and passive member support to work cooperatively with the Divi-
sion of Parks and Recreation and the staff of the Cape Henlopen State Park. Current projects
include aquiring bikes for use in the park, maintaining bird feeders and preparing for Na-
tional Trail Day June 2.
The Friends' next meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb 21, in the Biden Center

Town of Milton bids a fond farewell
Celebrating a sweet, if sad, good-bye, Milton officials and
residents honor Florence Ballentine with a going-away re-
ception in Town Hall. After 14 years service with the Town of
Milton ton Police Department, Ballene is moving
away e ea. Chief of Police Donald lls, left, and
May:ack Bushey express their gra+;te years she
ansred police calls, took minuteeil meet-
ings, welcomed newcomers seekingirifo/tlon in Town Hall
and kept track of when and where town officials should be at
all times. Mills said there are no words to describe how im-
portant she was to the functioning of the town and the police
department. He was joined by the mayor and members of
Town Council who praised her tireless service and lamented
her departure. Ballentine said she will always love Milton
and promises to return frequently.
