Arthur and his wife Brenda of
Laurel, and Michael Arthur and
his partner Vince Gabrielly of
Yonkers, N.Y.; a sister, Dorothy
Smith of Allentown, Pa.; a broth-
er, Bruce Patton of Jarrelsville,
Md.; three grandchildren; a great-
grandchild; and several nieces and
nephews.
Burial was held with full mili-
tary honors in Arlington National
Cemetery.

John Hellwig,
litigation supervisor
John Hellwig, 69, of Spring-
field, Va. and Rehoboth Beach,
died of cancer on Sunday, Jan. 14,
2001, at his home in Springfield.
Mr. Hellwig retired as a litiga-
tion supervisor for United Ser-
vices Automobile Association in
2000. He was a native of Wash-
ington, D.C. and a graduate of the
University of Maryland. He
served as a lieutenant with the
U.S. Navy in the Pacific during
the Korean War.
Mr. Hellwig was a member of
St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in
Washington, D.C. and attended
Westminster Presbyterian in Re-
hoboth.
Survivors include his wife of 46
years, Rita Heliwig of Springfield
and Rehoboth; three daughters,
Christine Wiggins of Springfield,
Diane Thornberg of Lewes, and
Carol Touhey of Alexandria, Vir-
ginia; and five grandchildren.
Interment will be held at a fu-
ture date at Arlington National
Cemetery.
Marian Alice Becker,
cooperated coffee shop
Marian Alice Becker, 83, of
Lewes, and formerly of Kennett
Square, Pa., Wilmington and Re-
hoboth Beach, died Sunday, Jan.
14, 2001, at Harbor Healthcare &
Rehabilitation Center, Lewes.
She co-operated the coffee cen-
ter at the Eleutherian Mills, Ha-
gley Foundation for 19 years. She
was loved by the staff and her
friends while she was a resident at
Harbor Healthcare Center.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Ralph Emerson
Becker in 1993, and two brothers,
Parke Neal and Bud Neal.
She is survived by two sons,
Kenneth Becker of Lewes and
Ralph E. Becker Jr. of Wilming-
ton; a daughter, Carolyn
Palmatary of Chadds Ford, Pa.;
four brothers, Ralph Neai of Elk-
ton, Md., Earl Neal of Manheim,
Pa., Lloyd Neal of Coatesviile,
Pa., and Clair Neal of Parksburg,
Pa.; eight grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Services were held in the
Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Parsell Fu-
neral Homes & Crematorium,
Lewes, with burial in Union Hill
Cemetery, Kennett Square, Pa.

Frances A. "Fran" Hague,
founded drum, bugle corps
Frances A. "Fran" Hague, 88, of
Talleyville, died Thursday, Jan.
11, 2001, at home.
Miss Hague was born and raised
in Talleyville. She loved cats and
horses and had the last horses in
Talleyville before the building of
homes in the area. She founded
Delaware's first All Girls Drum
and Bugle Corps in 1937 and at-
tended the New York World's Fair
representing Delaware Day and
Wilmington Day. They competed
against other marching bands be-
fore taking numerous first prizes.
Members came from Ciaymont,
Rockland and Talleyville. There
were about 35 members of the
Corps, which disbanded in 1941
due to gas rationing.
She was preceded in death by a
sister, Marie Hague, in November
2000.
She is survived by two brothers,
Arthur A. "Otis" Hague of Wilm-
ington and Lewis H. Hague of
Woodstock, I11.; three sisters, Mil-
dred A. Lacklen and Ethel M.
Thompson, both of Wilmington,
and Marjorie Seal of Milton.
Services were held at McCrery
Memorial Funeral Home, Tal-
leyville, with burial in Mt.
Lebanon Cemetery.

Edna E. King,
foster grandparent
Edna E. King, 87, of George-
town, died Thursday, Jan. 11,
2001, at Milford Hospital, Mil-
ford.
For many years, Mrs. King was
a foster grandparent at the Stock-
ley Center in Georgetown.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Rowland B. King, in
1973, and by her son, Francis R.,
in 1977.
She is survived by her son, Irvin
C. King and his wife, Gaye, with
whom she had lived for the past
year; two sisters, Ethel Wilson of
Georgetown and Harriett Massey
of Salisbury, Md.; three grandchil-
dren, Michael King and his wife
Stephanie of Middletown, Kathy
King of Millsboro, Christina
Shaw and her husband Andreas of
Rehoboth Beach; and six great-
grandchildren.

Harry N. Husbands, 54, of
Boothwyn, Pa., died Wednesday,
Jan. 10, 2001.
Mr. Husbands was a liquor
salesman with Delaware Im-
porters and a member of Concord
Mason Lodge 625 and the Scot-
tish Rite, Valley of Wilmington.
He is survived by daughter and
son-in-law Kimberly and Michael
Muirooney of Middletown, son
and daughter-in-law William and
Marilou Austin of Wilmington,
son Thomas A. Austin of Wilm-
ington, daughter and son-in-law
Tomi and Tedd Waldman of
Alexandria, Va., son and daugh-
ter-in-law Scot and Kim Hus-
bands of Rehoboth Beach; brother
and sister-in-law Edward and
Cindy Husbands of Lewes; broth-
er and sister-in-law Jack and Deb-
bie Husbands of Marietta, Ga.; six
grandchildren, Lauren and Joseph

owned State Lunch
Loukretia "Lucy" Economos,
95, of Chadds Ford, Pa. and Re-
hoboth Beach, died Monday, Jan.
8, 2001 at Lewes Convalescent
Center, Lewes.
Mrs. Economos, along with her
husband, owned and operated
State Lunch in Marcus Hook, Pa.,
until 1968. She was a member of
the St. George Greek Orthodox
Church, the Philoptoxhos Society
